This year's gala theme is centered on the history of Stamford from an archaeological viewpoint. What can we learn about our community through archaeological digs? Come see our exhibit at 1508 High Ridge Road, which features material recovered from archaeological sites excavated within the bounds of Stamford, with both prehistoric and historic components.
The goal of the exhibit is to show how much can be learned of the past through artifacts (any item made or used by humans) in conjunction with the study of written materials, where they are available. Our exhibit includes Native American artifacts, as well as objects excavated on the property of the Historical Society's own Hoyt Barnum House (built 1699).
Help the Stamford Historical Society continue to create quality exhibits for our community by attending a pleasurable evening of dining, dancing and socializing with friends. We hope. you will join us at our second annual gala fundraiser.
