The book traces the historical migration through the archived images preserved by the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Stamford, now The Jewish Historical Society of Lower Fairfield County. The authors: Irwin Miller and Linda Baulsir have carefully chosen images and written detailed narratives that tell the significant history of the Jewish people and their activities in Stamford, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, and Pound Ridge.

The material in the book goes back to the era just prior to the American Revolution, when lone Jewish families settled among the Connecticut Yankees to engage in trade, manufacturing, and commerce, and continues through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
