Pride and Patriotism: Stamford’s Role in World War II

The Interviews

Ted Guzda & William Kesnick

Ted Guzda and Bill Kesnick both joined the Navy in 1942. While Bill was assigned to PC-552, a sub chaser, Ted began his career in the Staten Island Repair Division. A chance meeting gave Ted the opportunity to join Bill as a crew member on the PC 552 craft and together they participated in the first wave assault on Omaha Beach on D-Day.
