Margaret Bowen Receives Honorable Mention for Volunteer Center Award 2003

Margaret Bowen has received Honorable Mention in the Senior, Legendary division of the Volunteer Center 's Volunteer of the Year Award. This past fall, SHS Director Tom Zoubek nominated Margaret as our candidate.

Margaret has been associated with the Society since the mid-1960s. She has cheerfully accepted every task given, and completed each with grace and professionalism. Long the Chair of the Collections Committee, Margaret has also chaired the Nominating Committee, served on the Board, coordinated our semi- annual museum trips, worked tirelessly on exhibits and arranging lectures, and, in 1988, was the first recipient of the Virginia T. Davis award.

Legendary truly is an apt description of Margaret Bowen and her many contributions to the Society. The Society joins the Volunteer Center in honoring her. Work like Margaret's truly makes history.
